Field Development Manager

California

Certis Biologicals, a leading developer, manufacturer, and marketer of biopesticides, is seeking a motivated and articulate professional to serve as technical representative for field research, product development, and technical support in California.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage a field trial program to develop performance data for multiple active ingredients on a wide variety of crops. This program is conducted primarily through cooperating academic research/extension institutions, private contractors, and collaboration with key customers and commodity groups. Participate in reporting, planning, and budgeting processes to coordinate project activities with other Field Development territories.

  • Product knowledge training and technical support of the regional field sales team, including oversight of grower demonstration trials, interfacing with key market influencers, presentations to customers, and participation in trade shows, distributor/grower meetings, and field tours.

  • Collaboration with Product Development, Regulatory, and Marketing teams, providing analysis and technical input to support new product launches and market expansion of existing products.

  • Represent the company through participation in professional conferences, commodity group events, and scientific meetings.

    Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Plant Pathology, Entomology, Nematology, Integrated Pest Management, or other discipline with a focus on crop protection.

  • At least 2 years practical experience in commercial product development, applied research/extension, or technical sales and marketing related to crop protection.

  • PCA license or ability to obtain it within one year after hiring.

  • Demonstrated field research skills in experimental design, statistical analysis, application technology, crop production practices, etc. Familiarity with ARM, SAS, or other statistical software would be beneficial.

  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory (may exceed 50% of time depending on season and location). Occasional travel outside the territory may be required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including proficiency in MS Office tools.

Ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced market environment.

The ideal candidate will have leadership, adaptability, and organizational skills with potential for future advancement into positions of greater responsibility for the company’s long-term strategic growth.

Location within California is flexible but should be suitable for efficient travel (near a national or good regional airport, with reasonable access to major highways). Company vehicle, computer, and other necessary business tools are provided.
