Regional Sales Manager—Northeast

Job Description Summary:

Certis Biological is a leading manufacturer and marketer of biological and botanical products for pest management.  Headquartered in Columbia Maryland, Certis has strategic positions across the US servicing the specialty AG markets. Our growing portfolio requires the addition of a highly motivated and knowledgeable professional to serve as its Regional Sales Manager for the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Region. The region consists of all New England states as well as New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Virginia. Predominate markets in this territory include, specialty crops, tree fruit, vegetables, row crops, and potatoes. 

Major Responsibilities/Areas:

  • The RSM will develop marketing plans and strategies for defined customer base to meet and exceed territory sales budget and operating targets.
  • Communicate with mid-level and retail level customers to align better align in the business decision-making process of Certis customers and aid them in maximizing profitability.
  • Maintain customer data base with customer profiles, crops, pests, products and competitive information. This will aid in understanding the overall territory scope and help recommend programs and services to meet and exceed customer needs while tracking business goals. 
  • Provide timely service, marketing options, agronomic information and advice to current and potential customers. 
  • Provide technical support and product training for key retailers, distributor sales representatives and consultants.   
  • Provides competitive analysis within the market area and make recommendations to marketing to help in the development of marketing programs and competitive response for advertising, promotional pieces etc.
  • Travel required approximately 40-50% depending on the location of residence within the region.

Education / Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or other Ag related major
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in agri-business and/or other related customer service function.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience, which result in the required level of knowledge, competencies, skills and abilities, may be considered.
