Sales Associate Internship

Certis Biologicals, a leading manufacturer and marketer of biological and botanical products for pest management, is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and articulate individual to serve as a Sales Associate Intern in pivotal California marketing areas. The Sales Associate Intern is responsible for supporting sales revenue in select California territories by promoting and delivering product information and enhancing customer relationships and sales programs specific to the vegetable, vines, and fruit/nut crop markets.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supportive activities of the directed sales and marketing plans targeted at key retailers and growers to maximize product and market penetration.
  • Promote the Certis Integrated Pest Management Solution Programs with influential growers and researchers of fruits, vegetables, trees, and vine crops.
  • Attend and participate in technical training in support of Certis product to key retailers, Pest Control Advisors, and consultants.  
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and business-to-business conferences
  • Reporting of gathered market intelligence, competing products, and other factors affecting business in the territory to Regional Sales Managers and Certis Marketing Department
  • Complete special projects as assigned and especially those that interface and impact the rest of the business unit.
  • Effective management of time, resources, and operations budget.

 

Skill Requirements: 

  • Ability to persuade and influence others. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to learn and execute knowledge of learned sales promotion techniques.

Education / Experience: 

  • Acquiring or have achieved a BS in an agricultural science or related discipline, with knowledge and/or experience in agricultural (preferred), sales or technical support.  Ability to qualify for and achieve a Pest Control Advisors license is preferred.  

Location:

  • Must be sufficiently centralized within the territory to maximize access to key markets and contacts. Position will require travel within the territory with occasional travel to corporate headquarters and/or sales meetings outside the territory. Company provides vehicle, computer, and other office tools for working from home. Salary is commensurate with experience and past performance
