The insecticidal soap concentrate works by direct contact with target pests due to the specially selected fatty acids, which disrupt the cuticle (or outer layer) by breaking down protective waxes. DES-X then penetrates the body of the pest, causing
degradation of cell membranes, which leads to leakage of cellular contents, ultimately killing the insect or mite pest.
